An alternative to shower curtain rings.

I did this about two years ago. I had a friend ask about it and so I snapped a picture. My girls bathroom is really cottage/spring like. I could never find shower curtain rings or even a curtain that I like that had all of the colors that I wanted. So I ended up purchasing a plain cream curtain. I hummed and hawed over what to do for quite a while. One day while in one of my favorite craft stores, I found the fabric for the tabs. I already had the fabric for the swash on the bottom and it just fit. Voila! The shower curtain of my dreams!

And the rug goes so well! ;)

Getting ready for baby!

All of my burpcloths are trashed. Two kids and lots of drool and spit-up later and there just isn't a lot to work with on those cute little trimmed burp cloths. My SIL used the tri-fold diapers when she had her baby and I LOVED the way they worked. So I am doing them this time...with a few additions.

Next on the list are the same burp cloths with ribbon trim on the edges. Too fun!

Love Blocks

I pulled out all of my decorations this morning. I made this last Valentines.

A Taggie

This is my first attempt at making a taggie. I was working with a really soft, stretchy fabric on one side, and a silky fabric on the other side. There is a slight pucker where I closed it up, but I don't think my niece will notice.

Results of a craft day with the fam

My mom and sisters and I got together today. We had a bit of a late start. One of my sisters is expecting her first baby! A girl!!! I am so excited! My sisters and mom all cut out and started on blankets. She will have a HUGE pile of blankets, so I am boycotting the blankets. Instead I am working on a stitchery with a patchwork edging. I haven't decided if it will be in a frame or a pillow. I recently went through all of my craft supplies and organized and purged. I established a rule for myself. I can only have a small plastic bin for each craft that I dabble in. My paint brushes have been a problem. I normally have them in a turning organizer from a large cooking gadget company. I can't fit it into my tote, so it has to go. I have had this idea in my head for a roll up container. Today I improvised one. I left my ribbons at home, so I scrounged through my craft supplies that I brought with me and I only had a yellow ribbon to tie it up. It worked fine. I can now fit all of my brushes in their proper tote and I don't have to deal with a bulky turnstile to manage my brushes.

Also on the agenda was for me to finish a stitchery I have had in my head for a long time. I have a picture montage of my kids above our piano. My oldest daughter's favorite song is "Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music. I came up with the pattern over a year ago and the frame has just been hanging since then. I HAD to finish it!
